Driver trapped in US 33 rollover crash

The driver of a car in a crash Tuesday morning on U.S. 33 was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department said Richard Esmont, 42, was driving a 2006 PT Cruiser south about 8:20 a.m. when the car went off the road, rolled at least once and came to rest on the driver’s side.

The South Bend man was trapped inside and was freed by fire units, the sheriff’s department said.

He was flown to Fort Wayne with cuts on the face and chest pain, the sheriff’s department said.

His condition was not immediately available.
