  • Komets lose Heard
    The hits keep on coming for the Komets. Forward Mitchell Heard was called up to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, after tallying 10 goals and 16 points in 12 games.
  • K's drop to 4th in rankings
    After getting soundly defeated by the Toledo Walleye twice in the last week, the Komets have dropped in my ECHL Power Rankings. Idaho now tops the list.
  • A good cause
    The Fort Wayne Freeze, the police department team, will take on the Cincinnati Firefighter Hockey Club at Memorial Coliseum at 3 p.m. Saturday.

This is amazing

For the second time this season, the Anaheim Ducks have used a former Komets player as an emergency backup goaltender.

Both guys only got to sit on the NHL bench for a matter of minutes, though, until minor-league reinforcements arrived.

First, it was Zach Sikich.

And tonight, it was Rob Laurie, who was a late preseason cut by Fort Wayne in the late 1990s.
