Inmate accused of murder plot

– Police say an inmate in an Indiana jail tried to hire a hit man to kill another man and his family while he was still behind bars.

Forty-year-old Brian Lee Blevins Sr. was being held Saturday at the Delaware County Jail in Muncie on a preliminary charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Blevins already was jailed on burglary charges.

A sheriff’s investigator told The Star Press that Blevins arranged for another inmate to be bailed out of jail in order to kill a man who Blevins said had threatened a member of Blevins’ family. The other inmate was a confidential police informant.

A police report says Blevins acknowledged making the agreement when he was questioned Thursday.
