News and notes

  • This will be Weickel's first start. The 19-year-old was slated to start Tuesday's rainout after being added to the TinCaps roster earlier that morning. He will hope to help the Fort Wayne pitching staff bounce back from a couple rough games, in which the team gave up eight and 11 runs, respectively.
  • The weather has not been kind in Comstock Park, Mich., and it looks as if today might be another potential rainout. The weather forecast calls for more rain today at the Whitecaps home park all the way up to the first pitch, along with moderate winds and a high of 43 degrees.
