Cody Zeller, seen here dunking against Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament, has decided to go to the NBA.

Zeller makes decision official

Indiana forward Cody Zeller made his decision to enter the NBA Draft official Wednesday.

Zeller, a 7-foot forward who was the Hoosiers' leading scorer (16.5 points), rebounder (8.1) and shot blocker this season, has elected to forego his junior season and enter the professional ranks. He was a second-team All-American.

He is projected as a consensus lottery pick.

"While I will continue to pursue my degree in the future, I believe it is in my best interest to pursue my professional basketball career in the NBA next season," Zeller said in a statement released by DistinXion, an organization run by his family.

"Over the past two years, Indiana University, my teammates and coaches, and the fans, have made my college experience better than I could have ever imagined. I have truly loved wearing the candy striped pants and I will forever be proud to call myself a Hoosier."

Zeller will meet with the media at 4:10 p.m., along with IU coach Tom Crean, to further discuss his plans.
