Critically injured moped rider is ID’d

FORT WAYNE – A moped rider who was critically Friday in a collision with a pickup truck on Fort Wayne’s east side has been identified.

Steven Mincoff, 47, of Fort Wayne, was in critical condition at the scene, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the Fort Wayne Police Department. His current condition was not available Wednesday.

The crash at East Washington and South Anthony boulevards was reported at 10:15 a.m.

Investigators believe the moped was headed south on Anthony and a GMC Sonoma truck was going north when both vehicles tried to turn east on Washington and collided, police said.

Medics took the moped rider to a hospital in critical condition, and the truck driver was hospitalized in fair condition, police said.

Police identified the pickup driver Wednesday as Richard Levihn, 59, of Fort Wayne. His current condition was not available.
