OK, so I get that it's now been 105 years since the Cubs won a World Series, and that "next year" is already here and the Cubs haven't clinched the pennant yet.
But, really, does that excuse this?
I figure there's a couple of possible explanations for this:
1. It's an April Fool's joke that got lost in the mail for 10 days.
2. Whoever sent this dropped large coin in Vegas that the Cubs would start 4-4 and they're only 3-5.
3. That recipe for sauteed goat brains that was supposed to accompany the goat's head somehow got mislaid.
In any case ... the unhinging of Cub Nation has apparently begun ridiculously early this year. Although Ricketts should probably look on the bright side of this.
At least they didn't send him a horse's head.
