The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says dense, patchy fog is moving into northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, and visibility in some areas might drop to a quarter-mile.
It said areas in the following counties are likely to get at least some of this fog by early Thursday evening:
- Indiana -- Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
- Ohio -- Williams, Defiance, Paulding and Van Wert.
Rain showers later in the evening are expected to help clear out the fog, the weather service said.
In the meantime, it urged drivers to use caution, allow extra travel time and slow down if conditions worsen.
This advisory includes the Indiana communities of LaGrange, Topeka, Shipshewana, Angola, Fremont, Kendallville, Ligonier, Albion, Auburn, Garrett, Columbia City, Tri-Lakes, South Whitley, Fort Wayne, New Haven, Huntington, Roanoke, Bluffton, Ossian, Decatur and Berne, as well as the Ohio communities of Bryan, Montpelier, Defiance, Sherwood, Hicksville, Paulding, Antwerp, Melrose, Van Wert, Delphos and Ohio City.
