News and notes
- 7:05 p.m. first pitch
- The TinCaps bounced back from a three-game losing streak with an excellent performance from Fort Wayne ace Joe Ross. You can read more about that outing here.
- Bring a sweater if you plan on attending today, but there might not be much need for an umbrella. The forecast for tonight's game has a very low chance of precipitation, and barring a huge shift in weather patterns, Fort Wayne should be able to get a full game in tonight.
- After a solid outing his first time out, Fried will hope to earn his first decision of the season. The lefty was scheduled to pitch yesterday, but rainouts earlier in the schedule put Ross on the mound for the home opener. Fried gave up one run and one hit in his first game with the TinCaps, while throwing four innings. Control has been an issue for the 19-year-old: He had five strikeouts in that outing, but also gave up four walks.
