INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis man arrested in the 2011 shooting deaths of a man and his 7-year-old niece has pleaded guilty to two counts of the murder in the killings.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says 23-year-old Michael Bell pleaded guilty Friday for his involvement in the December 2011 slayings of Kyleigh Crane and her 21-year-old uncle, Jeremy Crane. They were found shot to death in a home on Indianapolis’ far east side.
The victims and their family had considered Bell a close friend and Kyleigh had even called him “Uncle Mike.”
Bell has agreed to an executed sentence of 100 years as part of his plea agreement. His co-defendant, 26-year-old Jeremy Priel is scheduled for trial later this year on murder, robbery and handgun charges.
