TinCaps trail 2-1 after 3 innings

An early burst from Lake County has the Captains ahead of the TinCaps 2-1 after three innings.

After Fort Wayne pitcher Zach Eflin started the game with consecutive walks, a fielder's choice put two Lake County runners in scoring position. Nellie Rodriguez then drilled a grounder up the middle, scoring both runners and putting Eflin and his team in an hole.

Fort Wayne had a chance to fire back in the second inning when Luis Tejada led off with a double, followed by a single from Brian Adams and a walk for Alberth Martinez to load the bases. But Rodney Dall grounded into a double-play, and Stephen Carmon ended the inning on a bloop fly ball to left.

After a scoreless top half, the TinCaps' Corey Adamson doubled to right field and advanced to third on a past ball. That allowed Maxx Tissenbaum to drive in Fort Wayne's first run on a fielder's choice to first base.
