Purdue announced the release of sophomore guard Anthony Johnson on Monday, making him the third player to leave the program in the past five days.
Johnson averaged 5.2 points and 2.5 rebound per game in his career. He put together 4.9 points and 2.9 boards per contest in his final season with the Boilermakers.
Forwards Sandi Marcius and Jacob Lawson decided to leave the program on April 11 and 12, respectively. All three players were mostly bench contributors, but saw starts throughout the season as Purdue struggled to a 16-18 finish.
“Anthony has been a valued member of our program over the last three years,” coach Matt Painter said. “We wish him nothing but the best as he moves into the next chapter of his career.”
