Meth suspects lead police on long chase

Two men who led police on a chase through Kosciusko and Marshall counties were arrested Tuesday on felony dealing and manufacturing methamphetamine charges, police said.

Chase J. Burnau, 19, of Akron, Ind., was arrested on felony charges of dealing/manufacturing meth, possession of meth precursors, and fleeing law enforcement.

Michael N. Raider, 58, of Stanton, Ky., was charged with dealing/manufacturing meth and possession of meth precursors.

Both were being held without bail at the Kosciusko County Jail.

Burnau and Raider were driving a Pontiac through a mobile home park at County Road 100 South near Warsaw about 8:30 p.m. when they saw police in the area and sped away, throwing items used in the manufacturing of meth out of the vehicle’s windows, police said.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but Burnau continued to flee, leading police on a nine-minute chase through Mentone and into Marshall County. The vehicle then came to a stop near Apple Road and Indiana 25 where the men were arrested, police said.
