TinCaps slip, bounce back in 6th

A pair of errors might have turned the tide in favor of Lansing, as a five-run sixth on a pair of TinCaps errors has made it 5-5 entering the seventh inning. Then, with one swing in the bottom half, Rodney Daal changed that and gave Fort Wayne a 7-5 lead.

A dropped pop fly by Luis Tejada, which was out of play, started the comeback for the Lugnuts. What should have been a 1-2-3 inning turned into a five-run swing, including three walks, two base hits and another error by third baseman Gabriel Quintana that scored a run.

But Daal, the bottom man in the lineup, stepped up and crushed a home run over the left field wall to start the sixth for the TinCaps. Lansing made an error of its own on an easy grounder to second, and a double by Maxx Tissenbaum set up a sacrifice fly by Diego Goris, scoring Mallex Smith.

Entering the final three innings, the teams are on a third-straight big day offensively. The TinCaps have 10 hits, and Lansing has five.
