Indianapolis is seeking a return to pro hockey once Pepsi Coliseum is revamped, the Indianapolis Business Journal has reported.
An Indianapolis group went to the ECHL All-Star Game to talk with league officials, the publication has reported.
It quoted sources familiar with the discussion saying a potential local ownership group has been identified.
Joe Babik, the ECHL's director of communications, told the publication that the league likes the Indianapolis market, and with teams in Fort Wayne and Evansville, "a team in Indianapolis could have some good rivalries. It could be a good fit."
