2 charged in car break-ins

Police have linked two men to more than two dozen vehicle break-ins reported in January in the Aboite Township area, according to court papers.

Jayson Brothers, 34, and Branden Trigg, 24, were each charged Tuesday with a felony count of corrupt business influence.

Investigators believe Brothers and Trigg committed at least 27 vehicle break-ins late Jan. 26 and early Jan. 27, stealing GPS devices, laptop computers and other items, court papers stated.

The morning of Jan. 27, a police officer in the 4900 block of Winterfield Run, near Woodstream Drive, found a 2000 Dodge Stratus with a door slightly ajar. In the car, which Brothers and Trigg had borrowed from an acquaintance, police found several items that had been stolen from vehicles, court papers said.

Also in the car, police discovered Brothers’ cellphone, which contained photos of stolen items and text messages between him and Trigg, court papers said.

The car owner told police that Trigg told her he and Brothers had been stealing from vehicles when something happened and they left the car behind, according to court papers.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Brothers, of the 300 block of Rodgers Avenue, and Trigg, of the 7200 block of Moeller Road.
