Prayer events set

The community event for National Day of Prayer will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd. Scripture verse for this year’s event is from Matthew 12:21.

The Kiwanis Club of Fort Wayne will host a Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast on Thursday with keynote speaker the Most Rev. Kevin Rhoades, bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m. with a prayer service following in the Andorfer Commons, second floor, at Indiana Tech, 1600 E. Special events

St. Louis Besancon Rosary Sodality is having its annual Mom Prom from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday at Quixote Hills Reception Hall in Hoagland. The ladies-only event is for those 21 years and older and theme is Kentucky Derby. Cost is $12; for tickets or information, call 749-4525.

Concordia Theological Seminary, 6600 N. Clinton St., will have its celebration brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5 in Katherine Luther Dining Hall. Tickets are $16 adults, $15 ages 60 and older, $5 children ages 5 to 12 and children 4 and younger are free. Fort Wayne’s Shepherd’s Brass will provide entertainment.

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 7308 St. Joe Road, will present a program by Elaine Fazzaro and Daniel Layden on their recent trip to the Holy Land. A dinner will precede the program at 6 p.m., with presentation following about 6:45 p.m. The dinner and event are free.
