FORT WAYNE – Amateur positions in the Aug. 28 Chick Evans Memorial Pro-Am are now available for registration, the Western Golf Association announced recently.
Both individual and foursome spots are open for the event, which will benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, a group that provides need-based college scholarships for caddies.
The package also includes tickets to each of the days of competition during the Hotel Fitness Championship tournament week, which runs from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1. The pro-am will feature professional golfers from the Web.com Tour Finals, which determines the 50 golfers who will receive PGA Tour cards in the coming season.
The ability for amateurs to play with some of the top professionals in the world promises an unforgettable experience for all who participate, tournament director Duke Butler said in a statement. This is a unique opportunity to walk and play golf with caddies inside the ropes – just like the pros – the day before the official tournament begins.
The pro-am will take place at Sycamore Hills Golf Club.
