Meth haze noted in mother, son arrests

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southwestern Indiana police say a woman and her son facing drug charges had so many active methamphetamine labs in their home it was filled with a white haze.

Sixty-one-year-old Nancy A. Wilcox and her 31-year-old Robert L. Wilcox were arrested Monday night on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, criminal mischief and maintaining a common nuisance.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports ( that authorities said they dismantled eight active one-pot meth labs inside Wilcox’s haze-filled home.

Both suspects were taken to a hospital for decontamination before being brought to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where they remained held Wednesday on bond.

Officers on patrol had smelled a strong chemical odor wafting from their home. Ahazardous materials team was called the scene because it wasn’t safe for officers to enter.
