East Noble remains perfect on golf course

Michael Sharp had two bogeys, two birdies and finished with an even-par 36 to lead East Noble to a 164-187 victory over Norwell in an NHC golf match over the back nine at Noble Hawk.

The win kept the Knights unbeaten through four matches this season.

Sharp opened with a bogey-5, got the stroke back with a birdie-3 at No. 14, gave it away with a bogey-4 at 15, then had a birdie-4 on No. 16 to break even for the round.

Tanner Mathews led Norwell with a 38.

DEKALB 164, NEW HAVEN 203: At Bridgewater West, Spencer Shoemaker and Calvin George had 3-over 38s to lead the Barons.

CARROLL 155, COLUMBIA CITY 170: At Eagle Glen, four Chargers shot 40 or under as Carroll remained unbeaten through three matches.

Carroll’s Joey Justice and Columbia City’s Tyler Green shared medalist honors with 37s.


BISHOP DWENGER 9, SOUTH SIDE 4: Luke Palmer and Skyler Noll had home runs for the visiting Saints.

HOMESTEAD 12, BELLMONT 2: Nick Denice had two doubles, scored twice and drove in three runs for host Homestead, which broke open a 4-2 game with a six-run fourth inning.

CARROLL 9, EAST NOBLE 5: Ross Koble went 4-for-4 while Mason Neuman, Trevor Snyder and Matt Meihls had home runs for host Carroll.

NORWELL 12, NEW HAVEN 2: Host Norwell unleashed a 16-hit attack while Luke Hunter gave up four hits and struck out 10.

COLUMBIA CITY 7, DEKALB 4: Landon Rehrer had three hits and scored three runs for the visiting Eagles.

LEO 20, SOUTHERN WELLS 0: Host Leo had 12 hits and took advantage of eight Southern Wells errors to remain unbeaten through 11 games.


ADAMS CENTRAL 6-6, BLUFFTON 0-0: At Bluffton, the first game was an ACAC meeting, and the second game was a make-up. The Flying Jets’ Bess Fiechter had five hits and six stolen bases in the doubleheader.

CONCORDIA 4, HOMESTEAD 3: Taylor Sparks’ RBI drove in Abbie Grover with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the host Cadets.


CARROLL 5, EAST NOBLE 0: The host Chargers won for the 11th time in 12 matches.

Rachel Sutton won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
