Judge to consider bond request in officer’s DWI case

FORT WAYNE – A judge in northeastern Indiana will decide whether to revoke the bond of a suspended Indianapolis police officer who was arrested on drunken driving charges while awaiting trial on similar charges connected with a fatal 2010 crash.

Marion County prosecutors want the judge to order David Bisard jailed without bond. The hearing is being held Thursday in Fort Wayne, where the fatal crash case was moved because of extensive publicity in central Indiana.

Bisard is scheduled to face trial in October for the 2010 crash in which his patrol car hit two stopped motorcycles, killing one man and seriously injuring two other people. Bisard had been free on bond and kept his driver’s license.

Bisard was arrested again following an April 27 crash in Indianapolis.
