Hussey moves up to Advanced-A squad

TinCaps reliever John Hussey will head to San Diego's Advanced-A affiliate, Lake Elsinore, the Padres announced today.

Hussey will start today for Lake Elsinore. He was 2-0 for Fort Wayne with a 1.59 season ERA, and gave up 12 hits and three earned runs in 17 innings. Hussey also struck out nine batters.

Bryan Rodriguez, a 21-year-old right-hander, will replace the 26-year-old Hussey on the TinCaps roster.

It is Rodriguez's first appearance with Fort Wayne. He was an undrafted free agent picked up by the Padres in 2010, and was 3-4 with a 6.46 ERA last season in stints with the Arizona League Padres and the Eugene Emeralds, San Diego's short-season club.
