Fort Wayne will try out a free parking and trolley shuttle service during Wednesday's 11:05 a.m. game, the TinCaps announced today.
The pickup and parking area will be at 2400 W. Jefferson Blvd., adjacent to SweetCars and Westwood Lanes. Those who park at that location will be taken to Parkview Field's south gate.
"We wanted to making parking an even easier and more memorable experience, so we looked into the option of offering free parking and trolley rides," TinCaps vice president Brian Schackow said in a statement. "May 15 will be a trial run of what may become a regular part of day games in downtown Fort Wayne. It all depends on how many people choose to use this free parking service.
"If there is enough demand we will continue to provide it."
Trolley service will begin at 10 a.m., about an hour before first pitch, with shuttles running every 15 minutes. The shuttles will run back to the parking area for 45 minutes after the final out of the game.
As of now, Wednesday's trial run of the new transportation option is the only date set for trolley use, according to the release.
