Slaughter signs deal with Browns

Former Notre Dame safety Jamoris Slaughter signed a four-year contract with the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Tuesday on its website.

Slaughter was selected in the sixth round (175th overall) by the Browns in the NFL draft.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder played in 39 games, making 19 starts for the Irish, and finished with 98 tackles, two interceptions and two sacks.

Slaughter was denied a sixth year of eligibility at Notre Dame by the NCAA after his senior season was cut short after suffering an Achilles injury in the third game of last season.
