Garbage pick-up pushed back one day

FORT WAYNE – City of Fort Wayne’s governmental offices will close Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

The city announced Tuesday that this includes the 311 Call Center, City Utilities, Animal Care & Control administration, Police and Fire Department administrations and the Parks and Recreation Department administration, community center and youth centers.

Residential garbage and recycling collections will be pushed back one day all week, the city said in a written statement, with Monday’s collection on Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection on Wednesday and concluding with Friday’s route on Saturday.

The city’s parking meters will be free on Monday.

Regular business hours resume on May 28.
