TinCaps bats silenced in doubleheader sweep

TinCaps starter Zach Eflin did his job. Reliever Michael Kelly did, too.

The TinCaps batting order -- in a 1-0 loss to end a doubleheader Thursday -- did not.

Fort Wayne got eight strikeouts from Eflin, who allowed one run in five innings. But the TinCaps couldn't get any offense of their own.

Silver Hawks starter Rob Coe allowed two hits in six innings and struck out six.

Fort Wayne totaled six hits between both games and lost its fifth straight against South Bend. The loss moved the TinCaps to 4-13 against teams better than .500 this season.

The TinCaps play the final game in the series today at 7:05 p.m.
