South Side put up fight vs. Homestead

Huntington North couldn't seem to put South Side away Friday in the finals of the Homestead Softball Sectional.

The Vikings went up 5-0 after the first inning, but got only two runs each in the third and fourth innings.

Eventually, Huntington North got the sectional title with a 10-0 win with a run in the fifth.

"We had some lulls and a couple of innings where we didn't score a lot, but South Side played some good defense and made some really nice catches in the outfield," Huntington North coach Paris Seibold said. "We still don't take anybody for granted. I have been doing this too long to think we are just going to walk over them. They played a lot better than what I figured."
