3 meetings set over zoning project

Three meetings have been scheduled to get public input on the third phase of the ongoing Allen County-Fort Wayne Zoning Ordinance Update project.

The first meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in room 185 on the first floor of Citizens Square.

The other two meetings will be at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Omni Room in the Garden Level of Citizens Square.

The primary objective of this project is to update and align the Fort Wayne and Allen County zoning ordinances, part of ongoing work to improve, clarify, simplify, and streamline the development and permitting processes.

The phase 3 draft zoning ordinance documents have been completed by project consultant Clarion Associates and the Department of Planning Services staff. This phase of the project includes updated and aligned zoning ordinance language for commercial and industrial zoning district permitted uses, development standards, and special uses. It also includes additional general standards, including standards for development design, landscaping, parking, signs, and floodplain management, as well as an airport overlay district and accessory and temporary structures.
