Lugnuts, TinCaps hold at 4-1

Fort Wayne still faces a three-run deficit as the TinCaps head to the final three innings against Lansing.

TinCaps starter Justin Hancock went five innings and gave up seven hits and three earned runs. Matthew Shepherd entered the game for him and has given up one hit while striking out two.

Ben White, the Lansing starter, settled in after allowing a run in the first inning, and his defense has played well behind him.

The Lugnuts have turned four double plays, and after their run-scoring first, the TinCaps didn't get a runner to second base until they had two outs in the bottom of the sixth.

All but four of the Fort Wayne outs through six innings and two times through the batting order have been groundouts.
