Fort Wayne trails Lansing 4-1 after a three-run second inning and a pair of errors in the third.
The TinCaps started things off with a run in the bottom of the first. Mallex Smith scored on a single by Jeremy Baltz.
But starter Justin Hancock has struggled. After a scoreless first inning, Hancock gave up three hits to start the second, including two doubles. The Lugnuts were able to score three runs and had five hits in two innings.
In the third, a defensive error by second baseman Maxx Tissenbaum put the leadoff man in scoring position, and Lansing got its third double to score another run. An error by Diego Goris had the Lugnuts threatening to score again again, but Fort Wayne got out of a bases-loaded situation without any more runs.
