Power hitting keeps TinCaps afloat

Fort Wayne has seven extra-base hits in six innings. Those power strokes have kept the TinCaps ahead 7-4 with three innings left to play against Lansing.

Mallex Smith and Corey Adamson have home runs, and Dane Phillips, Diego Goris, Maxx Tissenbaum and Brian Adams have hit doubles against the Lugnuts.

Joe Church settled in during his relief of starter Bryan Rodriguez. Church, who played his first game at Parkview Field today, retired six straight batters from the fourth to the sixth.

He gave up one hit after surrendering two hits and hitting a batter to start his outing.
