Fort Wayne in a bad spot after Whitecaps' 4-run inning

The TinCaps face a five-run deficit with three innings to go after a four-run fourth inning gave West Michigan a commanding lead.

Fort Wayne starter Max Fried's outing ended after he walked a batter in during that frame. He went 3 1/3 innings and gave up six hits and six runs.

The TinCaps offense has struggled, too.

Whitecaps starter Edgar De La Rosa's splitter and changeup have fooled the TinCaps throughout today's game. De La Rosa has eight strikeouts in six innings and has forced six groundouts. The righty has retired 14 of his last 16 batters.
