TinCaps, Dayton scoreless through 6

Fireworks are to come later; they're sure not present through six innings at Saturday's TinCaps game at Parkview Field.

Fort Wayne pitcher Joe Ross and Dayton's Robert Stephenson are locked in a duel through six scoreless innings.

The TinCaps had their best chance to break the tie in the bottom of the sixth when Mallex Smith, on second base from a fielder's choice and stolen base, raced home on Maxx Tissenbaum's sharp single to left field. But Dayton left fielder Jesse Winker threw a long strike, and Smith was called out at home despite his head first slide.

The TinCaps have three hits off Stephenson, and Dayton has one off Ross.
