TinCaps down Lugnuts for 5th straight victory

The surging TinCaps won their fifth consecutive game Friday with a 10-6 victory over Lansing at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Mich.

Fort Wayne (36-23) erupted for four runs in the top of the first inning, then added three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

It was the TinCaps’ ninth consecutive win over Lansing (25-32), and their 11th win in the last 13 games.

Mallex Smith, Alberth Martinez, Dane Phillips and Chris Burke had two hits each for the TinCaps, who return home to face Dayton at 7:05 p.m. today.

Burke added three RBI.
