Fort Wayne took advantage of early errors by Dayton and leads 10-0 after three innings.
With runners on second and third and two outs, first baseman Luis Tejada hit a slow-rolling grounder that Dragons third baseman Tanner Rahier let skip off his glove. Leadoff hitter Corey Adamson scored on the miscue.
The TinCaps led off the next half-inning with a double from Diego Goris, followed by two straight groundouts. Goris advanced to third on the second out, and after Dragons starter Drew Cisco walked Adamson, a wild pitch brought in Goris.
Adamson then scored on a triple from center fielder Alberth Martinez. Then, another wild pitch by Cisco scored Martinez to round out the early onslaught.
In the third, the TinCaps tacked on six runs and chased Cisco. Alejandro Chacin stepped in for the Dragons starter, but didn't fare much better.
Chacin loaded the bases with two walks and gave up a bases-clearing double to designated hitter Dane Phillips.
Fort Wayne starter Justin Hancock gave up one hit and two walks in his first three innings.
