Good news, bad news

Saying it wants to have a close relationship with other hockey organizations in the area, including the Komets, Indiana Tech announced the creation of a men's hockey team to begin play in 2014 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

It doesn't explicitly say where Indiana Tech will play its games, but it reads like at the Lutheran Health SportsCenter.

The most interesting aspect might be seeing how, if at all, this affects IPFW's club team.

Meanwhile, there is sad news out of the hockey world. Kristians Pelss, who played last season for Stockton of the ECHL, drowned in Latvia and died this week. If the name sounds familiar, click here and you may remember why. I couldn't figure out why that video (very grainy, but exclusive to us) was getting so many hits this week.
