New faces, callups for TinCaps

Fort Wayne's roster added some names and saw some advance in the San Diego Padres system on the first day of the second half of the season.

The Padres made starting pitcher Justin Hancock's move to Advanced-A Lake Elsinore (Calif.) official. Designated hitter/outfielder Jeremy Baltz, who was on the disabled list in the latter part of the first half of the season for the TinCaps, will also join the Storm.

Outfielder Luis Domoromo joins Fort Wayne today. He comes down from Lake Elsinore, where Domoromo had a .198 batting average and 21 RBI. Infielder Tyler Stubblefield signed a contract with San Diego and will join the TinCaps, as well. He comes from an independent league, but played in Fort Wayne in 2011 and 2012. Stubblefield was released by the Padres after spring training this season.

Finally, outfielder Wynton Bernard will move back to extended spring training after a callup to the TinCaps late in the first half.
