Fort Wayne, South Bend tied at 2 through 6 innings

The TinCaps and Silver Hawks are tied at 2 entering the final three innings today at Parkview Field.

South Bend added a run in the top of the fourth. A single by Alex Glenn with two outs scored Rudy Flores to tie the game.

TinCaps starter Zach Eflin went five innings and gave up five hits and two earned runs. He struck out five, walked two and threw 91 pitches, 60 for strikes.

Reliever Matthew Shepherd entered in the sixth for Fort Wayne and retired three straight.

But Silver Hawks starter Brad Allen has dealt, as well. After two runs in the first three innings, he retired nine straight batters. Second baseman Maxx Tissenbaum broke up the streak in the sixth with a bloop single, but Allen quickly worked his way out of the inning.
