News and notes

  • One of the more inconsistent hitters in the first half sharpened up just before the All-Star break, and that success has carried over into the second half. Outfielder Brian Adams, who usually hits in the nine hole in the TinCaps lineup, is on a 10-game hitting streak. His batting average has risen from .200 in May to .333 in June.
  • On the other end of things, Luis Domoromo -- an outfielder who transferred down from Advanced-A Lake Elsinore -- is 0 for 11 in his first three games with Fort Wayne. He had struggled in California, as well, which led to Jeremy Baltz's call-up to the Storm.
  • Fort Wayne has lost on consecutive days just once since May 26, and the TinCaps will try to keep it that way after their 9-1 loss Saturday. Fort Wayne's last consecutive losses came in a split series on the road against West Michigan just before the All-Star break.
