TinCaps drop 5th straight game

The TinCaps' second-half struggles continue.

Wednesday night, they gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth and lost their fifth straight, 7-5 to Lansing at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Mich. It was their sixth loss in seven games since the All-Star break.

Colin Rea took the loss in relief, giving up the two runs in the eighth on two hits after the TinCaps (44-32) tied it at 5 in their half of the eighth. Ian Kadish got the win for Lansing (34-42), also in relief, pitching one inning and giving up three hits and two runs.

The TinCaps scored two runs in the second and one in the fifth in addition to their two in the eighth, raking four Lugnuts pitchers for 11 hits. Rodney Dall went 3 for 3 and Maxx Tissenbaum and Chris Burke each collected two hits for the TinCaps.

Before Wednesday’s game, the TinCaps announced that pitcher Leonel Campos was transferred to Double-A San Antonio; pitcher Michael Kelly was sent to short-season A Eugene; pitcher Adys Portillo was placed on the disabled list; and pitchers Colin Rea, Trevor Gott and Jorge Guzman were added to Fort Wayne.
