I'm no card-carrying member of the Alex Rodriguez fan club, but I think the man is as right as a summer breeze this time.
A-Rod thinks the Yankees aren't all that eager to have him back in the lineup again, because (in a more general sense) they don't want to pay him anymore. Thus the oddly venomous response from GM Brian Cashman to Rodriguez' exuberant tweet the other day.
"Visit from Dr.
"Alex should just shut the (bleep) up," Cashman responded.
Now, I don't know about you, but there seems to be a whole lot of misplaced anger here. I mean, what did Rodriguez do that was so bad, really? He got good news from the docs and decided to share it. And for that he gets told to shut the (bleep) up?
Sounds to me like Cashman got caught in a lie -- the Yankees have been saying all along Rodriguez wasn't ready for rehab games yet -- and wasn't happy about it. Also sounds like A-Rod's suspicions might not be all that groundless.
Or so it says here.
