Fatal crash snarls Indiana 930

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car Friday afternoon on Indiana 930 in New Haven.

The motorcycle was traveling east on Indiana 930 when it struck the car that was turning left from the westbound lane into a restaurant lot, New Haven police said.

About 1:10 p.m., emergency crews were called to the crash site, east of Hartzell Road. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, and her family took her to a hospital to be treated, police said. The names of the motorists were not released.

That stretch of Indiana 930 was closed to traffic until about 3:45 p.m. while authorities investigated the collision and cleared the road.

The crash remains under investigation.
