The Fort Wayne Police Department has identified one of several people shot last week in the city.
The shooting of Tyjuan P. Jett, 26, of Fort Wayne, was reported at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday on the city's southeast side.
When police officers arrived, they found blood in the front yard of a house at Lillie Street and McKinnie Avenue, but the shooting victim was not there. A neighbor told The Journal Gazette she heard three gunshots and screaming, then looked down the block to see two men loading the victim into the back seat of a purple Chevrolet Impala.
At 12:52 p.m., the Impala arrived at Fire Station 11 at Rudisill Boulevard and Lafayette Street, a little more than a mile from the shooting in the 4200 block of Lillie Street.
The victim received care there before medics took him to a hospital, where his condition was downgraded from serious to critical.
His current condition was not available Monday, police said.
