It's darker than this. For some reason, my iPhone takes photos that are very light.

July 15: Day 17

Monday night, I plied. It went pretty well, except that my Scotch tension kept slipping. This has come up a couple of times.

I oiled everything and checked over the wheel. It kept happening. Finally, I was on the phone with my sister, talking about it, and I saw that the little screw that holds the tensioning knob was loose. I tightened it with my thumbnail. Voila! No more trouble.

July 16: Day 18

This morning, I opened up a bag of 8 oz. of BFL from The Woolery. It's top, so I'm spinning it short draw. So far, it's going very well!

I really like it. It's fairly thin and short draw takes longer than long draw, so I will probably be spinning this for a good long while. The top is very open and easy to spin, with no major lumps or weird spots (so far).
