Hot, steamy weather continues

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says the hot, sticky weather will continue through the week in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

High temperatures are expected to be in the 90s all week, and the heat index is expected to hover around the 100-degree mark in the afternoons. The heat index is how hot it feels because of both the heat and humidity.

The heat index is expected to reach the high 90s Tuesday.

The weather service said the region might see some relief Friday, when a cold front is forecast to move through the area.
