Lake searched after possible drowning reported

After an intense search, Indiana conservation officers have determined that a report about a possible drowning at a northeast Indiana lake was unfounded.

About 1:09 p.m. Tuesday, a call came in about a possible drowning at Pike Lake on the north side of Warsaw.

Conservation officers said Warsaw Parks Department lifeguards searched the area before scuba divers from the Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Wayne Township Fire Territory and the Department of Natural Resources arrived.

Divers searched the area around the pier for about 45 minutes and the DNR searched the lake using sonar before it was determined that the report was unfounded, conservation officers said.
