Girl, 5, struck crossing street

A 5-year-old Fort Wayne girl was injured crossing the street near a church festival about 5:30 p.m. Monday.

A Fort Wayne Police Department crash report said a witness and the driver told them the little girl ran out into the street at the corner of Weisser Park and Pettit Avenue.

Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said, citing her injuries as minor bleeding and that most of her injuries were to her head. Her condition was not available.

A Wow Jams 2013 event was going on nearby at Brewer Park.
