Heat advisory issued

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a heat advisory in effect from noon Thursday to 8 p.m. Friday for the following counties:

  • Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, St. Joseph Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
  • Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
The weather service said the region will get high temperatures in the low 90s Thursday and Friday afternoons, with heat indices about 100 degrees each day. The heat index is how hot it feels because of both the heat and humidity.

Low temperatures are forecast to drop only into the low 70s Thursday night, providing little relief.
