TinCaps top Quad Cities

The TinCaps defeated Quad Cities 8-3 Thursday at Parkview Field for their third victory in their last four games.

Max Fried went five innings, giving up five hits and two runs (one earned), while striking out five and walking one.

Diego Goris had a home run and three RBI. Mallex Smith had a triple and two stolen bases.

Goris was 1 for 2 with two runs. Smith was 2 for 4 with two runs.

Fort Wayne racked up 11 hits by eight different batters, and it concludes its three-game series with the Quad Cities on Friday.

Fort Wayne is 10-16 in the second half, 53-42 overall. The Quad Cities are 14-11, 52-42.

This is the only series of the season between the teams, both of whom had two errors.
