TinCaps surging

It may have started messy for Fort Wayne pitcher Max Fried -- his team gave up a run in the top of the first -- but things are rolling along well now.

The TinCaps are up 5-2 in the top of the sixth inning, and Fried's night is likely done at Parkview Field. He gave up five hits and one earned run, striking out five and walking one.

Quad Cities' Vincent Velasquez has given up five hits and three earned runs, striking out five, walking one and hitting two batters.

Fort Wayne's offense is being led by Diego Goris, who is 1 for 1 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
